The role
ITV Technology is on an exciting journey to modernise and simplify technology across ITV. At the heart of that is the Digital Enablement Strategy, which underpins everything we do in tech. The primary purpose of this role is to lead on the development and execution of a communication plan for the Digital Enablement Strategy.
This role involves leading internal technology communications by collaborating with technology teams and Internal Communications to develop a strong internal communication strategy.
In doing so, the role will help foster a thriving technology culture through the organisation of community events, talks and hackathons. At times the role may require occasional attendance at external facing events. The position also oversees the early careers offering, including placement coordination, line management, pastoral care, and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Development and delivery of the communication approach for ITV’s Digital Enablement Strategy
- Management of community events - tech talks, hackathon, support logistic coordination of any future integrated planning events
- Upkeep of technology-wide intranet and coordination of Technology department communications (weekly bytes, town halls etc)
- Early careers scheme management/coordination
Minimum Criteria:
- Proven experience in developing and delivering communication strategies across a variety of communication channels and formats: Demonstrated ability to create a communication approach from scratch, comprehensive communication plans, identify target audiences, and select appropriate channels with knowledge of how to effectively engage and inform employees within a large organisation.
- Experience in building communities and increasing engagement: Ability to foster a sense of community within the Technology department, encourage participation and create a positive environment for collaboration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to build rapport and provide guidance to mentor and support early career professionals, with previous experience of managing or mentoring others.
- Proficiency in managing intranet platforms and other communication channels: Experience with content creation (including writing, video production and asset generation) and management of systems (e.g. intranet and email suites) and maintaining up-to-date, engaging internally-facing content.
- Proven ability to plan and run successful events like tech talks and hackathons, handling all the details from start to finish (venue, speakers, sign-ups, and tech) and setting measure of success/feedback to improve future events.
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Experience working in an enterprise technology department, with broad understanding of technology concepts and terminology.
- Experience working as part of, or closely with Change Management teams. Demonstrable understanding of change management best practice and principles.
- Experience representing organisations at external-facing industry events and conferences.
- Demonstrable project management skills, with experience of defining scope and deliverables, managing tasks and dependencies, monitoring progress against the plan and managing budgets.
- Experience creating and editing high-quality written and video content, with strong story-telling skills and the ability to create compelling narratives.
