Band 3 - starting salary £25,733 with annual, incremental progression up to £27,644
Full Time/Part Time - 37 hours per week
Working Location - On Campus
Arts University Plymouth are currently seeking to appoint a Student Recruitment Officer on a permanent, full-time basis, a key role within our institution that supports student recruitment to our Pre-Degree, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes through the delivery of a dynamic and varied annual calendar of recruitment and profile-raising events and activities.
This role will support the Student Recruitment Events and Projects Coordinator with the planning, promotion and implementation of all internal and external recruitment and conversion events, such as Open Days, UCAS events, school workshops etc, taking responsibility for the project management of their allocated events and activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and proven experience project managing multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.

The Student Recruitment Officer role will represent the university as a brand ambassador, engaging professionally and enthusiastically with potential students and schools and colleges to promote interest in studying at the University, providing accurate and detailed information. They will deliver targeted and engaging activities such as Campus Tours, Student Life Presentations, creative workshops and portfolio development courses. Experience in a public facing role delivering workshops, presentations or engaging learning activities would be highly advantageous.

This role requires extensive travel across the UK to support a full calendar of outreach events and activities and this will involve some evening and weekend work. Travel time and work taking place outside of agreed working hours will be awarded back through time off in lieu.

The role will also support occasional cover on FoH, providing an excellent service to enquirers across a range of channels and to support a seamless student journey.
About You
You will have:
  • Experience of engaging with prospective students or customers face to face e.g. through presentations, events, workshops or digital platforms.
  • Experience of delivering workshops, presentations and engaging learning activities.
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills; and ability to work flexibly to support multiple events at once.
  • Understanding of the FE and HE sector and the Pre-Degree, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes offered at the University.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire young people and act as a role model to prospective and current students.
  • Clean driving licence and a willingness to travel, both unaccompanied and as part of a team, to frequent overnight events across the UK.

About The Role:
  • Support the Student Recruitment Events and Projects Coordinator to develop and deliver a dynamic and varied programme of internal and external recruitment, outreach and conversion events and activities.
  • Project manage the delivery of allocated recruitment events and activities which may include Open Days, Applicant Days, Progression Days, UCAS events, school visits and workshops, campus tours, conversion events etc, working with key stakeholders as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
  • Utilise Arts University Plymouths CRM system to record, set up and manage recruitment event engagements (such as Open Days, schools visits etc) and to collect and manage prospective student contacts in addition to school and college contacts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools and colleges, making regular, timely contact to build personal contacts and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Represent the university as a brand ambassador, engaging professionally with potential students to promote interest in studying at the University, providing accurate and detailed information
  • Deliver targeted and engaging activities such as Campus Tours, Student Life Presentations, creative workshops and portfolio development courses
  • Monitor the schools and enquiries shared inboxes, ensuring excellent customer service and prompt responses, liaising with other teams across the University as required.
  • Assist with the management of Student Ambassadors (SAs) across Pre-Degree, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels by answering questions or problems, monitoring the event schedule, and managing communications.
