Company Overview
We are a established online classic car parts supplier, shipping over 1,200 parcels a week to trade and retail customers in the UK and worldwide. With a close-knit team of 10 and a strong reputation for service and product knowledge, we’re looking for a reliable, organised Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to join our operation.
Summary
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all customer orders are processed efficiently and shipped accurately and cost-effectively. Overseeing the process from printing orders to courier collectons.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate daily orders to the correct packer
- Select the best courier/postal service (Royal Mail, DHL, FedEx) based on size, value, and destination
- Prepare international shipping paperwork, including customs forms and commercial invoices
- Use your knowledge of geography to decide correct shipping method: EU vs non-EU routes i.e road or air freight; Understanding of UK postcodes, towns, and regions to identify potential 'out of area' surcharges
- Monitor and replenish packing materials (envelopes, bubble wrap, padded mailers, etc.)
- Assist the Management Team with accounts and office tasks (invoice matching, data entry, supplier coordination)
- Understand (or be willing to quickly learn) the basics of classic car parts to help ensure correct packaging and delivery, especially for fragile or valuable items
- Personally overseeing the picking & packing of larger orders for our Trade & Wholesale customers (this will require some manual handling of heavy boxes)
- Able to take overflow phone calls, and assist where possible or take accurate messages
What you'll need
- Experience in logistics, shipping, or e-commerce order handling
- Practical understanding of UK geography, post codes, regions & cities
- Confident with international geography, especially EU vs. long-haul destinations
- Some knowledge of classic car parts is ideal – or the confidence in your ability to learn our product range quickly
- Familiarity with online order-processing systems such as Channel Grabber that consolidates orders from various sales channels (Ebay, Amazon & own website)
- Familiarity or confidence to use accounting software such as Sage
- Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Have a confident manner in phone calls or emails, which can be used to independently problem-solve
