In short, your role within Jungheinrich will play a crucial part in providing the customer with complete peace of mind in managing their intra-company logistics.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Logistics & Customs department—an essential function within Jungheinrich's growing UK business.
As a Logistics & Customs Apprentice, you will receive structured training and support to help you develop core knowledge and skills in logistics administration and international customs compliance. This 36-month programme will lead to a Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, with the opportunity to progress into further development through the Level 3 International Freight Forwarding apprenticeship standard.
The Logistics & Customs Apprentice will play a key role in supporting the wider business on day-to-day logistics and customs operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy across all asset movements. Working closely with the Head of Logistics & Customs, you'll contribute to the coordination and documentation of freight processes, as well as the tracking, reporting, and administrative functions essential to smooth logistics operations.
Requirements
Qualifications (Essential)
- GCSE Maths & English (Level 4 or C and above)
- Full UK Drivers Licence
Skills
- IT literate, strong Microsoft Excel skills
- An understanding and willingness to develop a career relating to Customs & Freight Management Processes
- Supporting Report preparation for analytical & audit purposes with data collation
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with colleagues on different levels in the organisation
- Self-starting with personal drive and motivation to proactively identify issues and deliver solutions to problems
- A growth development mindset
Experience
- Experience in or a passion for a career within a Finance, Customer Service, Customs or Freight Forwarding related role would be ideal but not compulsory.
- Familiarisation of SAP would be an advantage.
Mobility
- Occasional travel required- fully expensed. This position is an Office Based role. Role will require interaction on Virtual platforms and travel for Team Meetings at Warrington.
