The Senior Sister will be responsible for the management of the clinical area of Outpatients at RSUH and County Hospital. The Senior Sister will facilitate innovative and evidence based nursing practice through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team. Work with the Matron and Clinic Nurse Managers to lead and plan the organisation of Outpatients. Deputise on behalf of the Matron at Directorate/Divisional meetings and working groups.Ensure all patient concerns are addressed on the department and work with the Patient Advisory and Liaison Service (PALS) and other patient forums.
The Senior Sister will act as a credible and professional role model, encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential. The Senior Sister will work with the Matron and Directorate Manager to ensure the Service Level Agreements for the delivery of Outpatients are met. The Senior Sister will be responsible in the HR management of the nursing team taking lead responsibility for sickness absence reporting and management, performance management working within Trust policy and procedure, education and development of the nursing team.
