Specialized in civil engineering and engineering structures, Bouygues Travaux Publics is one of the world leaders in the fields of land use planning and sustainable infrastructure construction. Bouygues Travaux Publics is committed to diversity and is open to all talents.
As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), we’re contributing to the delivery of Sizewell C — a nationally significant infrastructure project that will provide clean, low-carbon electricity to around 6 million UK homes for at least 60 years. This is a career-defining opportunity to work on one of the most ambitious infrastructure programmes in a generation.
I’m looking for a Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join our team in Avonmouth. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that safety, health, and wellbeing are not just met — but championed — across every aspect of our work.
This is a key role within the project team, where you’ll advise, guide and influence both operational staff and senior stakeholders to embed best-in-class HSW practices in a complex and ever-evolving construction environment. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
Providing expert HSW advice and support to delivery teams across the project lifecycle.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, client and contractual requirements.
Supporting project documentation reviews and attending pre-start planning meetings.
Leading safety inspections, site tours and HSW engagement activities.
Representing the CWA in client meetings and working groups.
Investigating incidents and adverse events, and identifying improvement opportunities.
Delivering training sessions, briefings and awareness campaigns.
Supporting junior team members through mentoring and coaching.
Deputising for the HSW Manager as required.
Promoting innovation and new technology to improve safety performance. To be successful, you’ll bring:
A strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations and compliance frameworks.
Experience managing HSW on large-scale construction and civil engineering projects.
The ability to build rapport, influence behaviours and drive a positive safety culture.
NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent (or working towards).
Competence in incident investigation, risk assessment and formal report writing.
A commitment to continuous professional development and behavioural safety principles.
This is more than a compliance role — it’s an opportunity to lead, influence and make a meaningful contribution to a major UK infrastructure legacy.
If you're ready to take your next step in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, I’d love to hear from you.
