Job Description

We are seeking a commercially driven Senior Finance Business Partner to support our Financial Services sector. This is a high-impact, strategic role—embedded in the heart of the business and working closely with Financial Services sector leadership to drive performance, shape commercial strategy, and build financial resilience.

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you won’t just report on the numbers—you’ll influence them. You will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, supporting complex commercial deals, improving forecasting accuracy, and raising commercial awareness across the business. You will be a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions, embedding financial foresight, and helping to drive smarter, more profitable decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership
Shape and challenge the Financial Services sector’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and group objectives. Provide insight that informs growth decisions, capability investments, and operational focus.
  • Revenue and Performance Management
Drive revenue predictability and performance transparency through rigorous forecasting, close collaboration with sales and delivery, and ownership of Sector key financial planning cycles.
  • Commercial Deal Support
Support and challenge the shaping of complex client deals—including outcome-based, gainshare, and usage-linked models. Ensure pricing, risk, and scalability are considered upfront, not retrofitted post-contract.
  • Profitability & Risk Ownership
Ensure profitability is built into the business model from the outset. Identify and mitigate commercial risks early—whether related to delivery, contract terms, client dependencies, or resourcing.
  • Commercial Acumen Uplift
Build financial capability across the Financial Services sector. Empower delivery leads, budget owners, and account managers with tools, insights, and training to make informed commercial decisions.
  • Embedded Commercial Influence
Act as a driver of commercial discipline and value creation. Embed financial foresight into Financial Services sector planning, pursuits, and operational governance. Influence key decisions from early-stage planning through to client delivery.
  • Ongoing Commercial Improvement
Continuously assess and improve the quality of commercial terms, pricing practices, and contract structures. Challenge weak or low-margin models and guide the business toward more resilient and scalable approaches.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering role
  • Strong understanding of complex service-based or contract-based business models (e.g., outcome-based, fixed-price, T&M)
  • Demonstrated ability to shape financial strategy and support senior stakeholders
  • Advanced financial planning, modelling, and commercial analysis skills
  • Strong commercial mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience within Financial Services, consulting, or digital transformation environments preferred

What Success Looks Like

  • Financial strategy that clearly supports Financial Services sector goals and drives commercial performance
  • Improved revenue forecasting accuracy and greater predictability
  • Commercial deals that are profitable, scalable, and well-governed from the outset
  • Financial Services sector leaders who are financially empowered and commercially confident
  • Clear improvement in contract quality, pricing discipline, and commercial resilience
