Grade 09S: £55,636 - £64,228 per annum
Part-time: 60% - 80% FTE job share
This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team of the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) at the University of Oxford. The OII is a multidisciplinary research and teaching department dedicated to the social science of the Internet.
Following a successful pilot, the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) is seeking to appoint a new Head of Administration and Finance (HAF) as part of a job share arrangement. The HAF role will be shared between two leads with the existing postholder currently working at 0.6 FTE, Monday to Wednesday; we now have an exciting opportunity for a new postholder to share the role on a permanent basis at up to 0.8FTE. There is some flexibility around working patterns, but attendance on a Wednesday is essential to allow for attendance at relevant committees.
The HAF is central to the management and leadership of the Institute, with both strategic and operational responsibilities. Working closely with the Director and other senior academic colleagues, the joint HAFs will play a key role in the Institute’s strategic planning. Jointly leading the team of administrative staff (currently 27 FTE), together you will oversee the administration and finance for professional services including finance, HR, research support, student and teaching support, facilities, IT, safety, and communications.
We’re looking for someone with proven management, leadership and teamwork skills, with substantial experience of financial management, planning, and HR management for a diverse workforce. An effective communicator, you will manage high quality support services for academic staff, researchers, and students. You will be able to think creatively, and have the analytical skills and judgement to make important decisions in a complex environment. Experience of working in a higher education or related environment is an advantage.
