Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SENCO Assistant (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our team . This role is crucial in ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the support they require to thrive academically and socially.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the school SENDCO to undertake and implement the below actions for the Walsall school site.
- Coordinate the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Work closely with teachers to develop inclusive teaching strategies.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and monitor their progress.
- Provide training and support for staff on SEND issues and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and external agencies regarding student needs.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support.
Requirements
- Experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation regarding SEND.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Term Time ONLY (Salary reflects term time hours so the figures advertised are take home salary (before tax) and not a pro-rata figure)
- We are open to flexible hours and this position would be for The Seeds School Walsall site.
