Our site offers one-to-one and/or small group sessions for children and young people in Key Stages 3 and 4. Our Alternative Provision specialises in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and has a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) overseeing our provision. We offer tailored education and support services to children and young people who may require additional support in mainstream education or assistance in accessing education. This includes Functional Skills in Maths and English and a range of vocational accredited qualifications in Hair and Beauty, Barbering, Music and Cooking. Our experienced team provides a safe and supportive environment that helps our learners thrive and reach their full potential. We also offer in-house mentoring sessions and therapeutic support, including therapeutic art, sports, forest school, and animal care.

To provide administrative support for the SENCO within the school, ensuring that all communication and record keeping is carried out to a high standard with accuracy and timeliness to the fore. Must have past secondary school SEND and administrative experience.
The duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description are not exhaustive, and the post-holder may be required to undertake any additional duties that may be necessary from time to time. Any such duties should remain the general character of the post. The post-holder must hold safeguarding qualifications and a DBS.
- To follow up on students daily attendance and maintain and send daily registers, weekly/ termly reports.
- To assist with the management and recording of information and directing communications from external agencies and other schools (including email) promptly and with a high degree of accuracy.
- To assist with updating and maintaining student recording systems for students with SEND, ensuring paper-based and computerised systems are utilised per school policies and practices.
- To filter and prioritise phone calls and allocate them to members of the team as necessary.
- Prepare student files for transfer (including SEND).
- Ensuring that files for new students (including in-year transfers) are received in a timely manner.
- Archiving and maintaining all student files.
- Typing up meeting minutes for the SENCO.
- Coordinating SEND parent meetings for the SENCO.
- SEND filing.
- Undertaking routine clerical duties, i.e., letter production, photocopying, faxing, class list production, mail merge, etc., as directed by the Headteacher.
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures related to child protection, health, safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection, and report all concerns to the appropriate person.
- Be aware of and support differences and ensure all students and staff have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- To have due regard for data protection, confidentiality and health and safety policies
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
- Participate in training and other learning activities as required.
- Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.
- Provide appropriate guidance and supervision, and assist in the training and development of staff as appropriate.
- Any other related HR duties as they may arise.
