The Lancaster Roman Catholic Diocese is looking to recruit a permanent Property Office Administrator to join a small, friendly well-knit team in our busy property office based in central Lancaster. The Diocese of Lancaster serves around 70 Catholic parishes covering North Lancashire and the whole of Cumbria. There is an extensive property portfolio of over 300 buildings which includes churches, chapels, presbyteries, church halls together with some rented property and land.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· providing administrative support to the Diocesan Property Manager,
· dealing with incoming and outgoing telephone calls, emails and messages in a friendly and professional manner,
· file and organise documents, both paper and electronic,
· take minutes and notes of meetings,
· input data to property management systems including those for monitoring health and safety,
· carry out administrative work associated with the management and maintenance of land and property,
· deal directly with some property issues,
· assist with the management a small number of rented properties.
Skills required include:
o Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively,
o excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
o attention to detail for accurate data entry and record keeping,
o proficient in using computer software programs for administrative tasks, including Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word and Excel,
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Experience and qualifications to include:
§ Have worked recently in a professional office for 3 years,
§ knowledge of property management principles and practices
§ Knowledge of Land Registry searches and the use of O/S Promap applications would be an advantage.
§ The successful candidate must have at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grades A-C, two of which must be English and Mathematics.
Hours
The role is a permanent post of 30 hours per week. The hours to be worked are 5 per days per week from Monday to Fridays (weekdays no weekend work). Some flexibility in start and finish times will be considered but within the range 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Salary and benefit.
The salary will be circa £24,000 per annum (30 hour week), dependent on experience. 8% employer pension contribution to employer scheme. Free on site city centre parking. Five weeks annual leave (pro rata) and public holidays (pro rata). Part of the leave entitlement to be used when the office is closed between Christmas and New Year.
