Job Title: Secondary Schools Sports Coach (PL Inspires)

Type of contract: Sessional

Hours of work: 24 per week (With Potential for additional hours).

Pay Rate: £15 per hour

Location: Various Schools and across North West London & West London

Reports to: PL Inspires Secondary School Manager

Department: QPR Community Trust – Education Department

Role Summary:

Premier League Inspires is a youth development programme designed to support young people aged 11-25 to develop essential life skills, improve their mental wellbeing, and achieve their potential. Delivered in partnership with Premier League football clubs and schools, the programme uses the power of football to engage and inspire participants through tailored mentoring, workshops, and enrichment activities.

As a Secondary Schools Sports coach, you will play a vital role in delivering high-impact sessions that promote personal development, resilience, and positive decision-making. You will work closely with young people in educational and community settings, fostering meaningful relationships and providing one-to-one or group support that empowers them to thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging sessions aligned with Premier League Inspires objectives.
  • Building trusting relationships with participants to support their individual journeys.
  • Collaborating with schools, club staff, and external partners to ensure effective delivery.
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to ongoing programme evaluation.

This role requires a passion for youth development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds.

There is opportunity to work across other Trust departments supporting a variety of projects during the school holiday periods.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Premier League Inspires project resource provided by the Premier League Charity Fund & QPR. This is to include (not exhaustive):

a. Engage and inspire participants (aged 11 - 25) in the programme.

b. Develop, refine and deliver learning resources for group workshops.

c. Deliver afterschool sports clubs

d. Classroom support for pupils 1:1 or in small groups.

e. Plan and deliver collapsed curriculum days and assemblies.

f. Complete monitoring & evaluation in line with PLCF and QPR policies

g. Deliver Literacy, Numeracy and PSHE interventions to individuals, small groups or whole classes

h. Engage with schools and participants in Social Action projects, particularly Premier League Challenge theme.

  • Liaise with a number of partners across a range of schools and organisations
  • Plan and deliver appropriate activities that fulfil the requirements from the Premier League Charity Fund.
  • Ensure that suitable progression pathways are available for young people to reach the most suitable level of participation, regardless of their ability or personal circumstances. This will involve linking and maintaining a relationship with relevant schools and clubs.
  • Support on the work experience weeks
  • Deliver against agreed targets as per the project plan and funding conditions.
  • Organise, manage and deliver other events as relevant to the programme, for example tournaments and festivals, open/taster days or education workshops.
  • Work as part of a coaching team in the Education Department, liaising with school staff & colleagues to ensure the ongoing continuation and expansion of locally based activities.
  • When required, provide cover and assistance for other coaching staff across all boroughs/areas that the Trust operates. This cover may extend to attending meetings, conferences, workshops and events if required.
  • Where appropriate, support the development of work experience trainees in order to increase their personal skills.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate all sessions, activities and programmes and adapt delivery accordingly.
  • Retain young people in sport by providing guidance on progression, exit routes and further sporting and leisure opportunities based on the young person’s interests and abilities.
  • Adapt sessions to cater for differing ranges of ability.

What we are looking for:

Qualifications

  • Youth Worker Qualification or similar (desirable).
  • In date Safeguarding / Emergency Aid qualifications

Experience

  • Experience of working with hard-to-reach young people

  • Ability to monitor and report on impact

. • Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding young people (desirable)

• Experience of working on youth-based projects (desirable)
