Acer Machinery Solutions Ltd is a small company that works with international manufacturers of packaging machinery, supplying their equipment to prospective businesses within the manufacturing industry in the UK and Ireland, covering a wide industry base including food & drink, personal care, homecare, pharmaceutical, pet food, chemical, automotive and other sectors.

We are looking for a proactive and organised Sales & Marketing Associate to support the Managing Director in a part-time role. The position is office-based located at the companies private office in Alton, Hampshire.
This is a varied role covering lead generation, sales coordination, project management, and marketing activities. This is a part-time position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, machinery-focused business.
This is a unique industry that is focused on the packaging process of products, the candidate will ideally have an inquisitive nature and have the desire to learn how industrial equipment can package our everyday products. You will be required to work on your own on occasion and must be a self-motivated and driven . individual with a talent for building strong relationships with new and existing clients, supporting the company’s ongoing growth.
Working hours: up to 20 hours to be split over a 3 -day period, these days can be agreed during the onboarding process. Training will be provided to fully understand the company and its products.
Qualifications
- A natural communicator, able to build rapport and put people at ease with confidence and professionalism.
- Able to quickly learn and confidently communicate the company’s products and services in a clear, engaging way.
- Sales-minded attitude – persistence, resilience, and a focus on creating new opportunities.
- Ability to absorb technical knowledge and convey it in a customer-friendly way.
- Experience in administrative support, sales co-ordination, and /or sales administration
- Experience in writing articles, social media posts
- Knowledge and experience with Office 365 products
- Knowledge of Quick Books and ACT! would be desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities – Sales & Marketing Associate (Part-Time)
Lead Generation & Sales Support:
- Research new markets and identify target businesses and key contacts.
- Introduce and promote the company’s machinery solutions to potential customers.
- Follow up on leads from trade shows, campaigns, and previous enquiries.
- Maintain regular contact with existing clients and prospects, developing long-term relationships.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturers on active enquiries and projects.
- Support the Managing Director with specific sales and business development initiatives.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Plan and execute email campaigns, track engagement, and follow up on interest generated.
- Assist with trade show preparations and attend UK-based events.
- Write articles and editorial content for trade publications.
- Manage and update the company’s social media channels (LinkedIn, blog) with relevant content.
Database & Administration:
- Maintain and update the CRM (ACT), keeping records accurate and current.
- Record all customer interactions and feedback in the database.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
- Offer sickness/holiday cover for team members when required.
- Attend relevant industry events and trade fairs occasionally.
You will be working within a small team and must be comfortable with the office dog.
This role potentially provides the opportunity for development and growth into a full sales role.
Some UK and international travel may be required from time to time.
Compensation
Part-time hours = up to 20hrs per week (to be agreed)
Salary: £29,000-£31,000 FTE Per Annum payable on a pro-rata basis, depending upon experience.
