We have an exciting opportunity to join our Patient Services Team here at 3W Health. 3W Health is a 3-site Practice based in Buckinghamshire with surgeries in Wing, Whitchurch and Winslow. We are a caring and forward-thinking Practice that strives to achieve an excellent standard of patient care. We have 6 GP Partners and approximately 20,000 patients.
The successful candidate will be expected to work at all three sites on a rota basis.
Working on either a full-time or part-time basis, the hours of work - Monday to Friday
07:45 to 13:15 and/or 13:00 to 18:30.
The post-holder should have previous experience of working within a high volume fast paced administrative role and be able work without supervision.
This role offers a variety of opportunities and no two days are the same.
Duties and responsibilities
Main Duties/Key Tasks
- Greet, receive, and direct patients
- Deal with general telephone enquiries
- Process appointment requests by patients, both in person and over the telephone
- Record messages for staff, including doctors and nurses
- Record requests for home visits and repeat prescriptions
- Record the receipt and the results of laboratory reports
- Register new patients
- Process a patient’s change of address
- Input patient information on computer, including under templates
- Be able to navigate correctly on EMIS Web
- Become trained on Docman for scanning and attaching
- Have a working knowledge of the telephone system, during and after hours
Essential skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced customer / patient facing role
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and relatives of patients
- Demonstrate sensitivity and empathy in difficult situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience of working in a health care setting
- Experience of working in a GP Practice
- Experience working with EMIS web or other medical records software
- Knowledge of medical terminology
