Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. As a Play Worker, you will create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to play and learn. Your role will involve managing play activities, ensuring the well-being of children, and fostering positive relationships with both the children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with children, encouraging them to express themselves and develop their social skills.
- Manage behaviour in a positive manner, using effective strategies to promote good conduct among children.
- Maintain a clean and organised play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment focused on the children's best interests.
- Provide support to parents and guardians by sharing insights about their child's development and activities.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development through play.
- Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences through creative play activities but is not mandatory.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£15.00 per hour
