The Role
We are seeking a Plant Hire Administrator to support our Plant Department in managing cross-hire operations and delivering excellent service to our Contracts teams and external plant hire suppliers. This role involves liaising with a wide range of colleagues and onsite operatives, ensuring plant is sourced, managed, and maintained efficiently and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of customer service to sites and departments when responding to plant hire requests.
- Work with the Plant Hire Controller to source plant from approved suppliers, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery standards are met.
- Raise accurate orders with correct product codes, supplier rates, on-hire dates, and contact details.
- Coordinate and respond to site requests for breakdowns and damages, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor plant compliance, ensuring inspections are completed ahead of renewal dates with certification filed.
- Reconcile on-hire reports from cross-hire suppliers.
- Keep sites informed of current hires, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring all records are correctly filed and scanned.
- Support the Plant Services Manager and wider department with administrative duties and ad hoc tasks as required.
Who you are
You are an organised and proactive administrator with experience in plant hire or a similar fast-paced environment. You can manage multiple tasks, meet tight timescales, and build effective working relationships across various teams and suppliers.

- Experience in plant hire or related industry (desirable).
- Strong administrative and coordination skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
