PCV/HGV Mechanic and PCV Vehicle Inspector

Job Summary:
Belle Vue Manchester Ltd are looking for experienced PCV/HGV Mechanics/Engineers and a PCV Vehicle Inspector to join our friendly team and maintain our growing fleet.
As an Experienced Mechanic you would be involved in carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to our expansive fleet.
As an experienced PCV Vehicle Inspector you will be responsible for carrying out 3-4 inspections per day and repairing minor defects on our expansive fleet.
Pay: £40,000 - £52,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications) + overtime (time and a half on weekends) + benefits and perks.
Mechanic duties:
- Carrying out routine inspections, servicing and repairs on vehicles
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on vehicles and machinery
- Diagnose mechanical issues and develop appropriate solutions
- Repair or replace faulty components and parts
- Conduct thorough inspections of engines, transmissions, and other systems
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair tasks
Inspector duties:
- Carrying out scheduled safety inspections on buses/coaches
- Comply with DVSA standards and safety regulations
- Identify and report electrical and mechanical faults on vehicles
- Maintain clear records of inspections and found defects
- Ensuring testing equipment is maintained and calibrated
Experience:
- Proven experience as a PCV/HGV Mechanic
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and engines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills

Requirements:
- Recognised apprenticeship as a bus Mechanic/PCV/PSV Technician and hold NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- Valid driver's license (Preferred)
