Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of food items, as well as contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling products when appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to ensure freshness of products.
- Perform basic maths calculations for portioning and pricing items accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the deli department.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies regarding food preparation and handling.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food environment is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. level 2 food safety trained, but not essentia, as we will put you through this training if needed.
- Strong time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to engage with customers positively and provide excellent service.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques is an advantage.
- A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing demands within the deli department.
