This role is open to all Police Staff / external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person spec, regardless of current grade.

About the team
The City of London Police is the designated National Lead Force for fraud and cyber-crime and is responsible for Action Fraud, the national fraud and cybercrime reporting service which also incorporates the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) and National Economic Crime Victim Care Unit (NECVCU). The City of London Police’s mission is to protect the public by preventing and disrupting fraud and cyber-crime through capable, coordinated, and effective policing.
About the role
The outreach and engagement officer within the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) serves as a strategic ambassadorial role, focusing on fostering meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and acting as a central point of contact, by sharing intelligence and exploring collaborative opportunities.The role is to provide sector specific insight of reporting mechanisms and services policing offer, whilst facilitating connections between law enforcement and industry experts.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain a range of meaningful relationships at senior levels across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, influenced by control strategy priorities.
- Design, host and deliver conferences, webinars and workshops for audiences of various sizes, sectors, subject knowledge and across a spectrum of managerial levels.
- Represent the NFIB and City of London Police both internally and externally, commonly at other police or governmental department meetings.
- Showcase the services offered by CoLP to business and industry to increase reporting and the quality of reports.
- Be an ambassador for the CoLP National Lead Force Functions.
Requirements
For this role, we need you to have experience of:
Experience
- Working knowledge of fraud, economic and cybercrime.
- Previous experience of working with external stakeholders and in collaboration with either the public, private or third sector.
- Experience of presenting to audiences of various sizes, sectors and subject knowledge, with the ability to adapt contents to meet audience requirements as required.
- Experience of planning and delivering high quality workshops.
- A proven track record of liaising and negotiating with external stakeholders.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships.
- Ability to understand the National Intelligence Model principles and disseminate appropriate intelligence products.
- Excellent planning skills, including event planning, projects and coordinating delegates
- Strong diplomacy skills, managing the expectations of stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain good relationships with key industry stakeholder
- Good ability to adapt and incorporate new and emerging technologies. This could include presentation tools and content streaming applications, such as Vimeo.
Knowledge
- Good understanding of relevant legislation and national strategy for fraud, economic and cyber.
- Ability to review and understand intelligence documents and simplify for the intended audience.
- A working knowledge of the National Intelligence Model.
- A sound understanding of different types of fraud, economic and cyber methodologies used.
- Good IT skills across a number of different programmes and a willingness to gain further knowledge.

Selection Process
As part of the initial application process, you will be asked to evidence how your experience, skills, and knowledge demonstrate your ability to meet the person specification of the role.
The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
