Job Overview
The Church Outreach Staff is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering outreach and evangelism programs aimed at engaging the wider community with the love, message, and mission of Jesus Christ. This role seeks to build bridges between the church and the local population, especially the unchurched, marginalized, or underserved.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Evangelism
- Plan and lead evangelistic activities such as street outreach, door-to-door witnessing, community events, and special campaigns.
- Share the Gospel through various forms (verbal, written, creative arts, social media).
- Build relationships with individuals and families in the community.
- Follow up with new converts and visitors to the church.
Program Development
- Develop and implement outreach initiatives based on the church's vision and local needs.
- Coordinate community service projects (e.g., feeding programs, clothing drives, health outreach).
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations, schools, shelters, or other churches.
Pastoral & Spiritual Support
- Offer basic spiritual care, prayer, and discipleship for those reached through outreach.
- Encourage integration of new believers into the life of the church.
- Assist with baptism, follow-up Bible classes, and small groups for new converts.
Administration & Reporting
- Keep accurate records of outreach contacts, conversions, and event attendance.
- Provide regular updates to church leadership.
Team Support
- Recruit and train volunteers for outreach ministries.
- Work closely with other ministry departments (e.g., youth, music, women’s ministry).
- Support our church functions and services as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A committed Christian with a strong personal faith and passion for evangelism.
- Experience in community work, outreach ministry, or missions (local or international).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong knowledge of the Bible and sound doctrine of the Christ Apostolic Church.
- Organisational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- IT literacy (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook, Excel, Google Docs).
