Gravitas Care Ltd is a Ofsted registered EBD home that is Good rating, we are an expanding company looking for Residential Care Workers to assist and support vulnerable looked after young people aged between 10-17 years. Gravitas Care Ltd supports young people presenting with emotional and behavioural difficulties displayed through a range of challenging behaviours.

Main Purpose of the Job
To undertake direct work with children and young people, to work in partnership with multi agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes for the children and young people residing at York House. To care and support young people and attend to physical, emotional and practical needs in order to support them with daily life. To ensure all children and young people are safeguarded at all times and their welfare is promoted.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attending to practical matters within the home (cooking, cleaning etc).
- Building positive relationships with young people, supporting them to build self esteem and confidence and overcome trauma.
- Acting as a role model and demonstrating appropriate pro social ways of dealing with problems.
- Helping young people gain self control by challenging unacceptable behaviours and rewarding acceptable behaviours.
- Ensuring each young person's care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their needs.
- To maintain all records in accordance with company policy, regulations and statutory requirements.
Person Specification:
- Must hold a current UK driving License
- Previous residential experience is desirable working with vulnerable looked after children.
- Possessing Diploma Level 3 in children and young people or be willing to work towards this is essential.
- Be able to work on a shift/ rota basis including sleep ins and on call. Flexibility is required in order to meet the needs of the home and young people.
- An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
