Night Baker
Location: 205 & 207 Coatsworth Road, Gateshead, NE8 1SR
Job: Full time (48 hours/week, primarily night shifts)
Salary: £35,000 + depending on experience and level

The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Night Baker to join our team. Your focus will be on artisan breads and viennoiserie, ensuring our shelves are full of beautiful, fresh products every morning.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mixing, shaping and baking sourdoughs, focaccia, baguettes and enriched breads.
- Laminating and shaping croissants, Danishes and other viennoiserie.
- Preparing doughs, batters and bases ready for the day team.
- Maintaining quality, consistency and high standards across all bakes.
- Keeping the bakery clean, organised, and food-safe.
- Working efficiently overnight to meet production schedules.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid training or proven experience in artisan bread and laminated doughs (please only apply if you have this).
- Strong knowledge of fermentation, shaping and baking techniques.
- A sharp eye for detail and pride in consistent results.
- Able to work independently during night shifts.
- Positive attitude and good communication with the day team.
- Flexibility to cover occasional day shifts if required.
