New Groups Coordinator
- Part time – 10 hours per week across 3+ days
- ·Location: Hybrid. Largely remote, with easy access to either Buntingford HO or St Albans for training and regular in-person meetings.
About NWR
NWR (National Women’s Register) is a membership charity aiming to stop social isolation in women. Founded in 1960 we have a network of 315 local groups and a thriving online community. Our aim is to connect women for conversation, activities and friendship. Typical groups offer discussion meetings, coffee mornings, book clubs, walks etc. The online offering is provided nationally – weekly exercise classes, expert speakers, online groups, book clubs, Facebook closed groups and short courses (Yoga, Meditation, Art, Bridge)
The Role
NWR have an ambitious membership growth target of 20% in the next year. This role is integral to achieving this - helping us to establish new groups in locations across the UK. As the organisation grows, the opportunity for more hours (if desired) will too.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will identify geographical gaps and launch new groups in these areas:
· Source local volunteers and work with them to get new groups up and running
· Help them to identify suitable venue and time for first meeting and free and low cost opportunities to promote new groups in local area
· Work with Social Media Assistants to execute local level organic digital outreach via community Facebook groups and websites
· Outreach to local social prescribers to encourage them to signpost to NWR
· Source volunteers to distribute printed marketing assets within local community
· Chair first meetings or (depending on location) recruit members volunteer(s) to do so
· Call referred enquirers to explain more about new group – try to convert them to attending first free meeting
Person specification
>5 years work experience in a comparible role
· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams) and Google applications
· Enthusiastic and resourceful – keen to learn new systems and work to problem solve when necessary.
· Experienced social media user
· Experience in volunteer recruitment and management is highly desirable
· Motivated by hitting targets and connecting socially isolated women to local groups
· Proactive, driven - able to work autonomously
· Outgoing, confident, happy to chat to enquirers and volunteers
· Warm, friendly, approachable, helpful
· Methodical and organised – able to work at pace whilst keeping efficient records of progress
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £15.00 per hour
