Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarder to work for our client in our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the shipment of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing relationships with clients and suppliers. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to navigate complex logistics challenges effectively.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery.
- Utilise transportation management systems to track shipments and optimise routes.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant standards.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers and suppliers to secure competitive rates and services.
- Collaborate with sales management teams to support B2B sales initiatives and lead generation efforts.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to enhance service delivery.
- Use CRM software to maintain client information and communication records.
- Implement Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems for efficient data transfer between partners.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Skills
- Proficiency in transportation management systems and supply chain management principles.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in logistics and sales management.
- Experience in B2B sales environments, demonstrating an ability to generate leads effectively.
- Familiarity with data entry processes, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations as they pertain to freight forwarding operations.
- Experience working with 3PL providers, enhancing logistical efficiency.
- Competence in using EDI systems, AS400 software, and other relevant technologies.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, enabling effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
