JOB TITLE: Junior Sourcing Administrator

LOCATION: Aylesford, Kent

WORKING HOURS: 8am - 4.30pm. Office based

A bit about the role...

As a proactive and highly organised Sourcing Administrator, you will support our Sourcing and purchasing team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in global sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing within a fast-paced, product-driven environment. You will work closely with our Sourcing Team and other internal departments to ensure materials and products are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering administrative assistance to the sourcing team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in identifying and researching new suppliers, both domestically and internationally.
  • Help maintain and update supplier databases, product specifications, and price lists.
  • Ensure accurate data entry of sourcing activities, supplier information, and purchase order records in internal systems.
  • Support the team in tracking market trends, price changes, and competitor activity to inform buying decisions.
  • Work with suppliers regarding samples, lead times, minimum order quantities, and product specifications.
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of meetings between the sourcing team. suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Help ensure timely communication of order statuses, delays, or changes to relevant internal departments.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams using email, phone, and online tools.
  • Work with the sourcing team to identify potential cost-saving opportunities through alternative sourcing or process improvements
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by the team.

Requirements

  • Ideally previous experience within a similar role, such as supply chain, purchasing or procurement.
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing environment would be great but not essential.
  • Excellent IT and Microsoft office skills, particularly Outlook and Excel with the capability to use and manage tasks through an MRP/ERP system.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ability multitask, effectively manage time and able to prioritise urgent and important work over non urgent or important tasks.
  • Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Hardworking, conscientious and take pride in your work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
