Job description

Request Compliance Officer

Cheshire Constabulary are pleased to advertise for the role of Request Compliance Officer, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career or who would like a career change to join us in a role that will provide an insight into the work we do here.

About the Role

We're looking for someone with an eye for detail who is organised and enjoys making sense of complex information. They will also enjoy and be good at building positive working relationships and influencing others. You will be based at our Headquarters in Winsford in a busy, supportive team and enjoy developing new skills.

In this role, you'll help make sure we're handling requests for information the right way - legally, accurately and on time. You'll be working with teams across Cheshire Constabulary, making sure we respond properly to things like Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other information queries from the public and our partner agencies.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Handling incoming information requests and making sure we respond within legal timeframes.
  • Working with officers and staff to gather the right information and providing advice where needed.
  • Checking over responses to make sure they're accurate and don't include anything that shouldn't be shared.
  • Helping the team to manage and track requests.

What We're Looking For

You will need to:

  • Be educated to level 3 or have equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ideally, have some knowledge of legislation relation to information management such as the Data Protection Act.
  • Have experience of conducting research and writing up your findings in a report or other format.
