Experienced sewing machinist
We’re looking for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our friendly team in the workroom. If you enjoy working with fabric, take pride in producing high-quality work, and want to be part of a company that values craftsmanship and teamwork, we’d love to hear from you!
As part of our curtain-making team, you'll be helping to create beautifully made-to-measure curtains and soft furnishings that our customers love.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Sewing curtains and other soft furnishings using industrial sewing machines
- Following measurements, fabric patterns, and order details to make each item just right
- Working with different types of fabric – from light sheers to heavy blackout and lined materials
- Measuring, cutting, hemming, and finishing products to a high standard
- Keeping an eye on quality throughout the process to make sure everything looks great
- Looking after your sewing machine and helping to keep the workshop tidy and safe
- Working as part of a supportive, skilled team that gets the job done
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience using industrial sewing machines (ideally in curtains, upholstery, or soft furnishings)
- A keen eye for detail – you care about neat stitches, straight hems, and quality results
- Confidence reading work orders and measurements
- Someone who’s happy to work independently or as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn – we’re happy to support the right person
Bonus Points For:
- Experience making curtains or blinds
- Knowledge of different curtain heading styles (pencil pleat, eyelet, pinch pleat, etc.)
- Any formal training in sewing, textiles, or soft furnishings
