Indirect Lead | London

For over 35 years, Aesop has carefully cultivated an inspiring and inclusive environment in which our employees are supported and encouraged to thrive. As a global retail organisation, we offer professional development and advancement opportunities to complement career goals and aspirations.

Our approach to skin care involves meticulous attention to detail, using only the most efficacious ingredients to create formulations which stir the self and senses. The same meticulous approach is taken during our recruitment process, seeking out considered and inspired individuals with a wealth of perspectives who bring out the best in themselves and others.

We aim to strike the right balance between people, planet and profit, actively reducing our footprint on the planet that generously sustains us. So far, this journey has led us to become a certified B Corp. We are committed to building a more sustainable and inclusive society.

Role purpose

This role leads the Indirect (3P and Online Wholesale) digital business, driving a globally consistent and elevated consumer experience across key campaigns, brand icons, and commerce moments. With a focus growth, the role owns the full digital consumer journey - from product assortment and platform search behaviour to content that converts. Operating through influence, it defines activation strategies and e-retail best practices, while partnering with Zones and Markets to ensure best-in-class execution. This role also provides strategic guidance on performance levers, including assortment optimisation, on-site experience, and data-driven insights that align digital strategy with business objectives.

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to –

E2E Activation & Growth Strategy

  • Identify and define priority campaigns, seasonal moments, and brand-led initiatives in collaboration with drive markets and regional stakeholders.

  • Ensure Aesop is fully Amazon-ready, with the right operational setup, assets, and brand representation in place.

  • Partner cross-functionally to secure timely delivery of campaign assets that meet platform requirements.

  • Collaborate with Markets and Regions to activate key growth levers: conversion-driving content, media investment, and optimized onsite experience.

  • Integrate performance data and channel ambitions into a strategic roadmap that balances brand equity with commercial acceleration.

  • Oversee the flawless execution of key moments, ensuring all supporting elements are in place to drive maximum impact.

New Platform & Channel Development

  • Lead cross-functional coordination with DMI teams and priority markets to launch new indirect e-commerce initiatives (e.g., new partners, platforms, or pilots).

  • Serve as the central point for evaluating and operationalizing emerging digital wholesale opportunities in line with Aesop’s brand and commercial priorities.

E-retail Excellence & Governance

  • Develop and maintain Indirect E-Commerce guidelines to ensure consistent and premium brand representation across all e-retail partners.

  • In collaboration with the Digital Content Strategist, lead the briefing process for creative assets in partnership with internal teams, ensuring alignment with brand standards and platform best practices and drive implementation of global consistency across touchpoints - including product detail pages, assets, copy, and SEO practices.

This is a full-time position, operating with a hybrid working pattern of three days per week based at Aesop’s head office in London Bridge and two days per week remote.

What we are looking for

  • Considerable experience in e-commerce, content marketing, or a related field, with a demonstrable track record of driving online sales growth through effective content strategies.

  • Significant experience in e-commerce activation and digital strategy, ideally within matrixed or global organizations and across both Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Indirect (3P, online wholesale) channels.

  • Deep understanding of the full online consumer journey and the key drivers of conversion, engagement, and growth across third-party platforms.

  • Demonstrated success in shaping and executing e-retail strategies that drive both brand equity and commercial performance.

  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to turn consumer behavior data, platform insights, and market trends into actionable initiatives.

  • Proven experience in leading content planning and execution for indirect channels - balancing brand integrity with retailer-specific performance goals.

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with regional teams, brand, media, and creative functions to deliver cohesive digital activations.

  • Data-driven approach to performance management, with the ability to monitor key KPIs, optimize content and channel mix, and report impact.

  • Sound understanding of platform UX, content hierarchy, SEO, and retail media to enhance discoverability and conversion on partner sites.

  • Agile and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Commercially sound, with a strong grasp of business levers like assortment strategy, media investment, and e-retail operations.

  • Open mindset and deep curiosity seeking to understand others, listen without judgement and act on diverse perspectives.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe work environment.

We take a holistic approach to employment, promoting professional development, career growth, employee wellbeing initiatives and encouraging deep connections with the local community through the Aesop Foundation, volunteering and matched giving programs. Employee benefits include –
