Job Advert

At Gear4music, we're not just passionate about music - we're passionate about people too. Our HR team is at the heart of making Gear4music a brilliant place to work, and right now, we're looking for a highly organised, approachable, and proactive HR Coordinator to join the team.

The Role:

As HR Coordinator, you’ll be instrumental in helping us deliver a first-class HR service across the business. From day-to-day admin to supporting employee relations and helping to shape people processes, you’ll play a key role in the full employee journey.

Whether you’re fielding queries in the HR inbox, supporting staff through key life events, or getting involved in a variety of ad hoc projects, this is a role where every day brings something new – and every detail matters.

You’ll report to the HR Manager and work alongside the HR Data & Reporting Coordinator to support the wider HR function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Be the friendly first point of contact for HR Inbox and HR queries - helping resolve people-related matters with clarity and care.
  • Support day-to-day employee relations including absence, welfare, maternity/paternity, probations and more.
  • Keep our HR trackers and people data accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with performance reviews, payroll checks, management reporting and right-to-work documentation compliance.
  • Create and maintain internal HR guidance as required.
  • Help drive continuous improvement across HR systems, processes and the employee experience.
  • Provide flexible support across both our Holgate HQ and Clifton Moor site - especially during seasonal peaks.

What you will bring:

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach - you're comfortable working with people at all levels.
  • Professional, friendly, and able to handle sensitive issues with discretion and empathy.
  • A genuine interest in HR, with a desire to keep developing your skills (CIPD or similar study is a plus!).
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, and confident managing multiple tasks at once.
  • Confident using Excel, Microsoft Office, and internal HR systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude and a passion for problem-solving.
  • Sound judgement, strong admin skills, and the ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • A team player who leads by example and consistently reflects our values through actions and attitude.

Why Gear4music?

At Gear4music, we believe in empowering our people to grow and thrive. You'll join a supportive, friendly HR team where your ideas are welcomed, your growth is supported, and your work genuinely makes a difference.

What we'll give you:

Alongside the benefit of working with a fantastic bunch of talented people, we are committed to providing a well-rounded benefits package that includes development opportunities and support for your wellbeing:

  • Generous discount scheme across our full range of music and home entertainment products.
  • Employee Assistance Programme, offering 24/7 caring & compassionate support across a wide range of areas.
  • Access to 30 qualified Mental Health First Aiders across the business, demonstrating our commitment to prioritising mental health & wellbeing support as a ‘Mindful Employer’.
  • Free car parking with access to electric charging points
  • Our modern office space features an onsite café and bar where we hold regular social events.
  • Onsite gym and physio with Gear4music discounts & perks
  • A relaxed dress code and a great coffee machine to make your day more enjoyable.

Plus the following: employee referral scheme, employer pension scheme, corporate eyecare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, company sick pay scheme, enhanced maternity, paternity & adoption pay, annual flu vaccinations, access to the 26-day per annum WFH policy where job roles permit.
