Supporting the Head of HR and Learning & Development Manager with recruitment, on-boarding, training and general HR matters. Working closely with the Head of HR to implement new strategies and projects. Work closely with all department heads to gain an understanding of the business needs on an ongoing basis.
Summary
Human Resources Assistant - Join our team in Shepton Mallet as a Human Resources Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting our HR functions. This position is essential for maintaining an efficient HR operation that aligns with our commitment to providing exceptional legal services.
Responsibilities
Assist in the administration of HR policies and procedures.
- Assisting the Head of HR with the process of recruitment, including vetting candidates, assisting with interviews and issuing employment contracts
- Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department
- Compiling and maintaining digital and electronic employee records, including holiday and sickness leaves
- Supporting HR-related training programs, workshops and seminars
- Entering employee data into computer database
- Coordinating onboarding for new hires
- Writing and submitting reports on general HR activities
- Overseeing HR events and meetings and coordinating management-employee communications
- Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency
- Being based in the Head Office in Shepton Mallet offering day-to-day support to the team and visiting the other offices as and when required
Qualifications
Proven experience in human resources or administrative roles.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleHR).
- Proficient in data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations is a plus.
- Experience with ATS systems is preferred.
- Previous experience within a HR Administration/Assistant role
- Strong IT skills and can pick up systems
- Excellent attention to detail
