The Opportunity
We're looking for a proactive and ambitious HR Assistant to join our friendly, growing HR team. In this varied role, you'll support the full employee lifecycle, be the first point of contact for HR queries, and help us deliver a high-quality HR service to 270 employees across our UK offices. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop your expertise, and make a real impact in a supportive environment.
This is a busy role where you will quickly become a key member of our small team taking responsibility for your own workload and employee lifecycle activities.
What you will be doing
General HR Support
- Providing clear, timely responses to HR-related queries from employees and managers, escalating where required.
- Absence recording and holiday management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in our HRIS (Cezanne HR)
- Develop into a system 'Super User' supporting reporting and workflows.
- Take initiative in streamlining processes and contributing to HR projects.
Employee Life Cycle
- Manage onboarding processes including issuing contracts, right to work checks, DBS checks, references, induction planning and probationary periods.
- Oversee the leavers process, issuing letters, activate exit interviews, references and maintain accurate leaver records for payroll.
- Support changes to terms and conditions of employment, including re-calculating pay and holidays as required.

What we're looking for
Essential
Minimum 3 years similar experience in a busy HR setting
Experience of the full employee life cycle processes
Experience of HR inbox management
Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Knowledge of HRIS systems - including data entry and basic reports
Able to work independently and use initiative
Highly organised and experience of managing multiple tasks and changing priorities
Good understanding of UK employment law relating to recruitment, onboarding and leaver processes
A helpful and proactive approach to problem solving
Excellent IT skills - particularly Outlook and Excel
It would be great if you also have:
CIPD Level 3 or above / HR related degree
Experience of Cezanne HR
Experience of working in a professional services environment
