Purpose of the Role
The Head of Operations is a key leadership role responsible for the effective and safe day-to-day running of all operational aspects of the charity, including the Arts Café, Events, and Building. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on involvement and requires a proactive approach to both managing people and directly supporting operations on the ground.
The postholder will oversee the café, bar, theatre, and other hireable spaces, ensuring smooth delivery of services and high levels of customer care. They will lead and work alongside Venue Supervisors, Venue Team Members, and Volunteers, playing an active role in staffing, training, and operational support.
Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, meeting agreed income targets, and contributing to the ongoing development of the charity’s commercial and community activities. The Head of Operations will work closely with the Chair of Trustees and other key stakeholders to identify and implement improvements across all service areas.
In the first six months, the postholder will focus on the operational management and development of the Arts Café and venue hires, which are currently the charity’s primary sources of income.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
