The Role
We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Outsourced Finance Service Line Lead to oversee our growing outsourced finance function. This is a Director level role responsible for driving operational excellence, improving service line profitability, and leveraging technology to deliver scalable, high-quality finance solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Line Leadership: Own and lead the outsourced finance service line across all UK locations and offshore teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation in service delivery.
- Offshore Collaboration: Act as the key stakeholder for offshore delivery teams, ensuring alignment on performance, quality, and process improvement.
- Performance Management: Define and monitor KPIs across the service line, including forecasting accuracy, new business growth, and margin improvement.
- Forecasting & Planning: Lead financial forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation to support growth and profitability targets.
- Technology Enablement: Champion the adoption of automation, cloud accounting, and reporting tools to improve efficiency and client experience.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices across teams to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with office-level managers, partners, and clients to ensure service delivery meets evolving needs.
- Commercial Oversight: Monitor and improve service line gross and contribution margins, pricing models, and client profitability.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven experience leading outsourced or shared service finance functions within an accountancy practice or BPO environment
- Strong understanding of cloud accounting platforms and reporting tools
- Demonstrated success in managing offshore teams and improving operational efficiency
- Commercial acumen with experience in margin management and pricing strategy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) preferred
