This role reports into the Commercial Director and gives you a direct line to the CEO, CPO, and Chairman.
It’s a senior seat at the table with real mentorship and meaningful influence.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll own new business growth across our core sectors, particularly higher education and recruitment. From strategy to execution, you’ll lead our outbound efforts, shape positioning, and drive high-quality revenue.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Building and qualifying a pipeline of high-potential opportunities
- Leading compelling outreach and product demos that drive engagement
- Developing tailored, consultative sales strategies for each prospect
- Owning the CRM and pipeline cadence with discipline and follow-through
- Representing Shortlister at key events, exhibitions, and roundtables
- Feeding market insight into our product, marketing, and leadership teams

You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have 3+ years’ experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally in SaaS, EdTech, or recruitment tech
- Are hungry to win, love a target, and do what it takes to get results
- Know how to run and close complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
- Are highly proactive, always looking for your next opportunity and never waiting for leads
- Communicate clearly and with confidence, in writing, meetings, and on video
- Bounce back from setbacks and stay focused when deals take time
- Bring insight, curiosity, and energy to every conversation
- Manage your own pipeline rigorously and keep everything moving forward
- Understand, or are eager to learn about, the UK university admissions and talent landscape
