About the Role
Work independently or as part of a team to conduct building and ground maintenance processes in conjunction with a selection of waste management tasks to schedules and specific timeframes.
Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
- Conduct site maintenance and repair duties across warehouse, office, and customer areas.
- Maintaining the safety, cleanliness and operational standards of the external areas
- keeping outdoor areas tidy, litter-free, and safe including snow/ice clearance when required.
- Carrying out daily/weekly checks on machinery and keeping records accordingly. (e.g. hand tools, power tools, salt spreaders, tractors etc.).
- Operating job-related tools, machinery, vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Cleaning car parks, roof spaces, transport yards and loading bays.
- Performing caretaking duties e.g. minor repairs, preventative maintenance and painting etc both internally and externally.
- Assisting with waste management, recycling across sites.
- Salt spreading and snow removal to ensure car parks, pedestrian walkways and vehicle roadways are safe for vehicles and people.
- Liaising with external contractors when needed
- Self-motivated, reliable and a good team player.
- Reliable, with a positive attitude and attention to detail.
- Practical, hands-on, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in an outside environment in all weathers.
- Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, visitors, customers and employees who may be affected by your activity.
- Consistently work in accordance with the Company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Able to complete manual work as described above.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Flexibility in working time, including bank holidays and out of hours working where required.
- Able to contribute towards an ‘on call’ rota during winter months when salt spreading is required.
