Darlington Rugby Club is a busy and welcoming venue at the heart of the community. We host rugby match days, private functions, and events, and we also operate the hospitality service for Darlington FC home matches. Across both venues, we pride ourselves on delivering a warm welcome and five-star service every time.
Role Overview
We’re looking for enthusiastic and adaptable Front of House & Hospitality Team Members to join our team. You’ll work across both Darlington Rugby Club and Darlington FC match day hospitality, covering table service, bar work, food counter service, event support, and kitchen assistance when needed. Every shift is different, and teamwork is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service in line with our five-star standards.
- Take food and drink orders, serve tables, and operate tills accurately.
- Serve hot and cold food from the counter, maintaining quality and presentation standards.
- Prepare and serve drinks, including alcoholic beverages, following licensing laws.
- Assist in the kitchen with food preparation, plating, and cleaning when required.
- Support with set-up and clear-down for events, functions, and match days.
- Complete opening and closing checklists, ensuring all areas are ready for service or secured at the end of shifts.
- Keep all service areas clean, organised, and fully stocked.
- Work with colleagues to solve problems quickly and maintain smooth service.
- Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Team player with a flexible approach to different tasks and locations.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and match days (rugby and football).
- Able to work well under pressure during busy events.
- Positive, can-do attitude and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Previous hospitality, catering, or bar experience.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and/or bar operations.
- Personal Licence (training available if required).
Hours & Pay
- Zero-hour contract – flexible shifts, mainly evenings, weekends, and match days.
- Pay dependent on experience, with training provided.
Pay: From £7.80 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
