About The Venue:
Welcome to The Yacht – an exciting new venture for the East Street Pub Company in the heart of Torquay’s harbourside. A fresh and prestigious venue, The Yacht brings together a unique blend of exceptional drinks, an in-house distillery, and a globally inspired food menu. Designed to offer a premium experience, we aim to set a new standard in hospitality, creating a vibrant destination for both locals and visitors.
Role Overview:
We’re looking for a confident and enthusiastic front of house waiters to join our team. As Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Assistant and General Manager to oversee day-to-day service, lead shifts, and support the wider front-of-house team. This is a great opportunity for someone with hospitality experience who is ready to step up and take on more responsibility in a fast-paced, premium venue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests with warmth and professionalism
- Take orders accurately and efficiently using our POS system
- Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation and quality meet our standards
- Provide attentive service and handle any guest concerns with a positive attitude
- Keep your section clean, organized, and ready for the next table
- Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required
About You:
- Previous experience in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A team player with a can-do attitude and great attention to detail
- Able to stay calm and friendly under pressure, especially during peak hours
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
Supporting Promotions & Events:
· Assist with the setup and running of events, themed nights, or promotional campaigns.
· Contribute ideas to improve service, team engagement, or customer experience.
· Champion and promote The Yacht’s unique offering, including our in-house distillery and craft drinks.
Requirements:
· Experience in a front-of-house hospitality role, ideally with some waiting experience
· Great people skills – confident, positive, and a natural communicator.
· A passion for premium hospitality, great food, and drinks.
· Willingness to learn and grow with the team and take initiative on shift.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak times.
· Calm under pressure with a hands-on, team-first attitude.
