DESCRIPTION:
The Finance Assistant has the primary responsibility of assisting the Financial Controller to ensure the smooth running of all Finance functions.
The incumbent will support the Financial Controller to deliver a service that is suitable for the production of decaffeinated tea and naturally extracted caffeine for customers in the UK and abroad which meets the needs of the Finlay Group. The role will involve taking on tasks where working with limited supervision will be necessary.
The successful candidate will be responsible, along with another team member, for tasks such maintaining the accounts payable and receivable ledger, review of payroll, bank payments and reconciliations, stock control, CapEx costs, invoicing to internal and external customers and booking of journals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly and annual financials.
- Match and process invoices/credit notes to purchase orders/delivery notes, enter onto the ERP system (Navision) and follow the authorisation process.
- Enter BACs payment details onto RBS system and follow the authorisation process.
- Enter cleared bank payments and receipts onto ERP system (Navision) and reconcile banks.
- Complete monthly payroll workings to be agreed with the HRBP prior to final submission
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualifications: Part-qualified or working towards AAT desirable but not essential.
- Accounts Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role ideally in manufacturing.
- Attention to Detail: Able to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and a good level of numeracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact with customers and team members.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in all MS software, especially Excel.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various tasks and priorities.
