About the role
The Finance team is undergoing a transition and this is a newly created role seeking a Finance Assistant to take responsibility for all the transaction processing in Xero. This position will report to the Financial Accountant.
As part of a dynamic and growing organization, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner to process all the financial transactions of the business.
This role combines technical and subject matter expertise and hands-on delivery to meet stakeholder expectations, foster strong relationships and advocate for service excellence. The business is a low volume, high value transaction environment and has some international exposure.
Role responsibilities
As the Finance Assistant, you will:
- Process all customer invoices.
- Process all supplier bills.
- Prepare customer and supplier account reconciliations.
- Set the Company up on customer and supplier portals as required.
- Process all bank transactions.
- Reconcile the bank account.
- Process quotes to customers.
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Month end and VAT support.
- Prepare payment runs for approval by Directors and load payments in the bank.
- Undertake Credit Control and chase monies owed.
- Monitor the Finance Inbox and deal with queries.
Technical Skills/Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in performing the above tasks for a small or medium sized company.
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Acute attention to detail with error rate at an absolute minimum.
Advantageous Skills:
- Working with Xero.
- International experience in a multicurrency environment.
- Working in a similar industry.
Personal Skills/Attributes
- Live within commutable distance of central London (currently Leicester Square tube station) for at least once a week office visits or as required.
- Legally able to work in the UK.

- Time Management – Manages multiple priorities effectively while ensuring deadlines are met.
