Felix Primary School is seeking an experienced and inspirational Teacher to lead our Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 Specialist Assessment Unit, a carefully planned space tailored to meet the needs of pupils with complex learning needs. This is a unique opportunity to shape a highly valued provision and make a lasting impact on the lives of our youngest learners.
Elm Unit is a nurturing space attached to the mainstream school, consisting of a welcoming free-flow room, two smaller spaces for focused group or 1 to 1 work and a dedicated outdoor area for daily exploration and sensory learning. The school day runs from 9am - 3pm and we offer all pupils a warm start with an optional breakfast to support routine, readiness and wellbeing.
You will:
- have a strong understanding of early childhood development and SEND
- bring energy, creativity and care to the classroom and sees the potential in every child
- lead with high expectations while nurturing a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment
- work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to deliver truly personalised learning
- be ready to lead and grow a committed team and take ownership of the vision and standards of the unit.
