We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Exhibition Invigilators to join Screen South for REVEAL – Screen South’s Showcase Artists Exhibition. This is a fixed-term, part-time opportunity ideal for individuals passionate about contemporary digital art, and visitor engagement.

Role: Exhibition Invigilator
Exhibition: REVEAL - Screen South Showcase Artists Exhibition 2025
Location: Digital: Glassworks, Mill Bay, Folkestone CT20 1JG
As an Exhibition Invigilator, you'll be a friendly and informed first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a safe, engaging, and accessible experience. You'll oversee gallery spaces, support visitors using augmented reality (AR) and interactive elements, and report technical issues while working alongside Screen South’s Technology Manager.
- Contract Details
Pay: £12.12 per hour (National Living Wage)
Duration: Friday 29 August (opening night) – Sunday 21 September 2025
Hours: Part-time, with shifts scheduled across Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and weekends.
Rota: Working hours will be allocated on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential, and availability for weekend will be required.
Shifts: Wednesday and Thursday - 11:45am to 5:30pm, including 30-minute break
Friday – 11:45am to 7:15pm, including a 30-minute break
Saturday and Sunday – 11:45am to 5:45pm, including a 30-minute break
Training: Mandatory training session prior to the exhibition opening. This will take place w/b 25th August.
- Key Responsibilities
1. Warm welcome & engagement: Greet visitors confidently, provide proactive and inclusive customer service, and share insights on exhibited works.
2. Artwork supervision: Ensure the safety, neatness, and security of exhibits; assist with handling AR and digital equipment under guidance.
3. Visitor support: Offer clear instructions to users of AR devices, interact thoughtfully with educators, families, and individuals with additional needs.
4. Reporting & liaison: Observe and report any technical issues or safety concerns promptly to Screen South’s Technology Manager; assist in gathering feedback.
5. Team participation: Attend briefing sessions, coordinate handovers, liaise with Screen South team members, and support special events activities.
6. Promote resources: Share information about related events, wider Screen South and Digital Glassworks activities, and the Folkestone Triennial.
- About You
· Strong communication skills and confidence in a public-facing environment
· A calm and professional manner, especially in busy environments.
· Interest in art, digital media, or AR technology
· Tech-savvy with the ability to assist non-technical visitors
· Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
· Previous experience in a gallery, museum, or customer-facing role is desirable but not essential.
· Sensitivity to accessibility and inclusion
