About the role

We're looking for an Environmental & Sustainability Co-ordinator to join our team and help deliver our BNO North projects.

This is a great opportunity to be part of the UK's move towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy network. You'll support project teams in making sure our work is carried out responsibly, helping us reduce our environmental impact and meet our sustainability goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting project teams with day-to-day environmental and sustainability tasks
  • Helping to prepare environmental management documents and reports
  • Carrying out checks on site to make sure we meet environmental standards
  • Collecting and recording data on things like waste, carbon and resource use
  • Sharing ideas and promoting best practice with teams and contractors
  • Lending a hand with community and stakeholder engagement where needed

Who we're looking for

You don't need to know everything from day one - what matters most is your interest and passion for sustainability and a willingness to learn. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with others, pays attention to detail and wants to make a positive difference.

Ideally you will have:

  • A qualification or some experience in environmental management, sustainability or related area
  • A basic understanding of environmental regulations and good practice
  • Confidence to work with different people and communicate clearly
  • Passion and enthusiasm for building a career in sustainability within the energy sector

Why work for us

Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.

Why join us?

As if contributing to and supporting work that makes life better for millions wasn’t rewarding enough, we offer a full range of benefits too. You’ll have the freedom to shape the package that’s right for you and your life. Here are some of our key benefits:

  • Smart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working, where roles allow.
  • 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata)
  • Family friendly policies which include 28 weeks full pay for maternity/adoption leave and four weeks full pay for paternity/partners leave
  • Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and much more…
