Job Title: Environmental Consultant
Location: Based in Inverness (with travel to project sites as required)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Consultant to join our team in Inverness. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of peatland restoration projects across Scotland. You will work closely with landowners, contractors, and statutory organisations to plan, manage, and monitor peatland restoration work that supports climate change mitigation and biodiversity recovery.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the planning and delivery of peatland restoration projects.
- Liaising with landowners, contractors, and partner organisations.
- Undertaking fieldwork and site monitoring to assess project outcomes.
- Using mapping and data tools to support project design and reporting.
- Ensuring projects are delivered to high standards.
Requirements
- A HND or equivalent qualification in environmental science, ecology, geography, or another relevant field.
- A full, valid UK driver’s licence (essential for travel to remote project sites).
Essential Skills
- Working knowledge of GIS software and data capture techniques.
- Confident and safety-conscious when working in remote and mountainous terrain.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of peatland surveying, and restoration techniques.
- Experience in habitat and species survey design, planning, and fieldwork.
- Familiarity with drones and their application in environmental monitoring and data collection.
- Competence in monitoring and reporting on environmental projects.
