We’re seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Energy and Heat Networks Specialist to join our Sustainability Team on a 6-month fixed-term basis, supporting compliance with the regulatory framework for heat networks.
In this role you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of Platform’s heat supply service, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, stakeholder expectations, and customer values. You’ll play a key part in supporting our journey to net zero through energy and carbon reduction while supporting renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives that support our wider sustainability goals.
You’ll take ownership of accurate data reporting, resolve billing and heat network queries, and provide technical, administrative, and customer service support to the Energy and Heat Networks Manager. Your responsibilities will also include managing provider contracts, analysing tariff data, and contributing to funding applications, compliance reporting, and identifying opportunities for investment and decarbonisation.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience and understanding of low carbon and renewable energy technologies such as communal heat networks, heat pumps, solar PV, and energy storage.
- Experience of monitoring and analysing data to identify problems and validate solutions.
- Enthusiastic interest in a variety of energy technologies, including communal heating, solar photovoltaic, heat pumps, and energy storage.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with at least intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in sharing and communicating knowledge with colleagues on renewable and low carbon energy systems.
While this role is home based, you should have a driving licence and the ability to travel to Group offices and other locations across the geography of our stock to carry out inspections. This is anticipated to be approximately twice a month.
