Please ensure that you have the relevant experience before applying.
We are Barker Street Pet Services, a dog walking and dog training & behaviour business offering exemplary canine care in the West Yorkshire area. We are an extremely small team and are therefore searching for the perfect candidate for this role; someone who has the relevant experience, has fantastic problems solving skills, is able to use their own initiative, enjoys working alone and who really loves dogs.
We are looking for a dog walker to join our small team. It is absolutely necessary that the successful applicant has relevant experience of handling and socialising dogs with a calm, confident and friendly manner. Please note that I am looking for someone with relevant experience working with dogs and not simply owning them, as this is something entirely different when mixing and socialising dogs. The successful applicant will also need a full UK driving license with access to their own vehicle for the use of transporting dogs during their working hours. The successful applicant must have core values that match that of the company. Our slogan is "we love your pets like you do" so this job is suited to somebody who is absolutely passionate about dogs, who is looking to start a long-term role within the animal care sector and who understands and exhibits our company ethics. There is also the opportunity to get involved in our dog training classes and learn from our knowledgeable and experienced Canine Behaviourists.
The role is to walk dogs in a maximum group of three in the Morley, Birstall and Gomersal areas so knowledge of these areas would be beneficial but not essential, as full training will be given. The role is to work Monday-Friday and the working hours can differ day to day but usually you'd be working around 5 hours per day. Due to fact that no certain hours can be guaranteed, this is a zero hours contract. Please note, however, you will still be eligible for all employee necessities (including 28 days paid holiday) and you'd always be guaranteed work on Monday-Friday. The wage is £13.21 per hour and you'd also be paid mileage for the use of your car during your working hours. This role is also suitable for someone who would like to work on a self employed basis and, if so, the hourly rate would be higher for this arrangement and can be discussed in more detail for the relevant application.
If you have experience working with dogs and would love to join our team, please apply with your CV and cover letter - I really look forward to hearing from you!
