Job Title: Dispensary Stock Assistant
Location: Speeds Healthcare One Lakeside
Reports to: Pharmacist Manager
Job Purpose:
To support the efficient operation of the dispensary by managing the receipt, storage, preparation, and dispatch of pharmaceutical stock and supplies. This role ensures that medicines and related products are available, organised, and handled in line with regulatory and safety standards to support high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Goods-In Handling
- Receive and check incoming deliveries of medicines and pharmacy supplies.
- Verify delivery notes against orders and report discrepancies or damages.
- Ensure correct storage of stock, including cold chain items, in line with pharmacy protocols
- Stock Management
- Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet dispensing needs.
- Rotate stock and monitor expiry dates to minimise waste.
- Organise and label stock clearly for easy access and identification.
- Dispensary Support
- Prepare and organise stock for prescription assembly and daily operations.
- Replenish dispensary shelves and workstations as required.
- Assist dispensary staff with locating and retrieving stock efficiently.
- Dispatch Duties
- Accurately pack and label prescriptions and supplies for delivery or collection.
- Ensure safe handling and timely dispatch of items, following pharmacy procedures.
- Maintain records of dispatched items and support delivery tracking where applicable.
- Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, returns, and controlled drug handling.
- Follow all health and safety, infection control, and data protection policies.
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or stock-handling environment (desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and follow procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic IT literacy for stock systems and record keeping.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months
Pay: £12.21 per hour
