The Students Union
Our Students' Union stands as a beacon of student empowerment and innovation, consistently striving to enrich the student experience and advocate for our diverse community. We've achieved significant milestones in student engagement and welfare, reflecting the University's core values of inclusivity and impact. We're a dynamic environment where creativity and student-led initiatives flourish.
What you will be doing:
- Work with Union staff to produce, edit, and update the Students' Union website using our content management system, acting as a main point of contact for its content.
- Optimize our social media channels, ensuring regular updates, swift responses, and community growth through effective engagement strategies and analytical monitoring.
- Lead on content creation, including planning, recording, and editing engaging photo and video-based content, ensuring it's effectively promoted across various platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend new and emerging social media trends to ensure our digital presence remains innovative and future-proof.
- Collaborate with UBU staff and the wider University to collate and send out regular emails to different segments of our membership.
- Propose inventive online and digital ways to raise awareness around campaigns, key events, activities, and services.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Relevant general education/qualification to a high standard.
- A strong knowledge of social media and a rounded understanding of youth culture and current trends.
- Experience in content creation, including planning, editing, and recording video-based content.
- Basic understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Basic understanding of Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of working in and supporting a team.
