Position: Dental Receptionist
Schedule Options:
- Part-Time: Mondays, Saturdays mandatory, flexible on other days
- Full-Time: Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays required
Shift Length: 8 hours per day
About Us
We are a busy NHS and private dental practice committed to delivering the highest standard of patient care. We are seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our supportive and professional team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Manage appointment scheduling, recalls, and cancellations efficiently
- Handle NHS forms, private treatment plans, and patient payments
- Accurately maintain patient records in compliance with GDPR
- Use and manage SOE Exact dental software daily
- Communicate effectively with dentists, nurses, and support staff
- Maintain a professional, welcoming reception and waiting area
- Deliver excellent customer service to both NHS and private patients
- Assist with administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is mandatory
- Some prior experience in a dental practice environment is essential
- Proficiency in SOE Exact software is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor with patients and colleagues
- Strong teamwork, collaboration skills, and a proactive attitude
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Knowledge of dental terminology and compliance is a plus
- Reliability, punctuality, and dedication to patient care are essential
- Ideally GDC registered (with indemnity cover and GDC fees paid by the practice)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
