Job Summary
We are an after school club in South London, we are looking for someone who can come in at 3:30 to plan and cook a healthy tasty dinner for 60 children two days a week term time only and can cook, help serve and clean and tidy away after. (Tuesday and Thursdays)
The person we are looking for needs to have relevant qualifications in kitchen management, food safety, meal preparation, and food preparation techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the culinary arts and a desire to help others develop their cooking abilities. This role is perfect for individuals who are looking for part time work and are happy to engage with children and adults in an after school club.
Duties
- Assist manager in ordering food in advance.
- Assist managers in understanding food safety practices and regulations and to fill in the daily records in relation to food and hygiene.
- To know which children have food allergies and intolerance and be able to cater to their needs.
- Provide hands-on instruction in food preparation methods, including cooking techniques and presentation.
- To clean and tidy the kitchen, ovens, tables etc.
Experience
- Proven experience in a culinary setting, such as working as a cook or in a restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with the managers to order food and kitchen cleaning equipment.
- A passion for cooking.
