DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a proactive and organised Administrative Assistant with some experience in accounts and construction site support. This role involves day-to-day office administration, document control, and occasional on-site assistance with paperwork. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable supporting both office and site-based teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general administrative duties, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining office records
- Assist with basic accounting tasks (invoicing, purchase orders, expenses, etc.)
- Provide document control support on construction projects, ensuring accurate filing and distribution of drawings, reports, and site records
- Travel to construction sites as needed to assist with documentation and site paperwork
- Prepare and format reports, presentations, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Support site and contracting team with administrative and logistical tasks
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate information flow
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an admin role, preferably within construction or a similar industry
- Familiarity with basic accounting practices and document control
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel occasionally to local sites from Colchester
Desirable:
- Experience with construction document control systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Webcontractor, ProCore etc.)
- Knowledge of health & safety documentation requirements
